Now it cameabout afterthe deathof Saul,when Davidhad returnedfrom the slaughterof the Amalekites,that Davidremainedtwodaysin Ziklag.
And Davidbroughtup his menwho[were] with him, eachwith his household;and they livedin the citiesof Hebron.
whenone toldme, saying,'Behold,Saulis dead,'and thoughthe was bringinggood news,I seizedhim and killedhim in Ziklag,whichwas the rewardI gavehim for [his] news.
Now theseare the headsof the mightymenwhomDavidhad, who gavehim strongsupportin his kingdom,togetherwith allIsrael,to makehim king,according to the wordof the LORDconcerningIsrael.
and he said,"Be it farfrom me beforemy Godthat I should dothis.Shall I drinkthe bloodof thesemen[who went] at the risk of their lives?For at the risk of their livesthey broughtit." Therefore he wouldnot drinkit. Thesethingsthe threemightymendid.
