which things are being allegorized; for these are the two covenants, one indeed from Mount Sinai bringing forth to slavery, which is Hagar.

And He said, Hagar, Sarai's slave, where did you come from? and where will you go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bore to Abraham.

For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father!

and all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

For Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to Jerusalem which now is, and is in slavery with her children.

Even so we, when we were infants, were in bondage under the elements of the world.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not again be held with the yoke of bondage.

And he said: Jehovah came from Sinai and rose up from Seir to them. He shone forth from Mount Paran, and He came with ten thousands of saints. From His right went a fiery law for them.

concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from where he even received him, in a figure.

and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

Now may the God of peace (who brought again our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant)

by so much was Jesus made a surety of a better covenant.
