On the second Sabbath after the first, He went through the grain fields, and His disciples plucked and ate the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands.

Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.

You shall count seven full weeks from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf bundle of the wave offering.

On the first day you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no regular work.

And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new. For he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

On another Sabbath, when He entered the synagogue and taught, there was a man whose right hand had withered.

You must count seven weeks for yourself. Begin counting the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain.

When you enter into the standing grain of your neighbor, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you may not use a sickle on your neighbor’s standing grain.
