They brought it to Jesus. And they threw their garments on the colt, and they set Jesus on it.
Then they hurried. Each took his clothes, put them under him on the bare stairs, and blew a horn, saying, “Jehu is king.”
All this was done to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying:
They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their garments on them, and He sat on them.
They said, “The Lord has need of it.”
As He went, they spread their clothes in the street.
On the next day a great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
Then Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written:
