Let Him take His rod away from me, and let not dread of Him terrify me.
Will not His excellence make you afraid, and the dread of Him fall upon you?
Therefore I am troubled at His presence; when I consider, I am afraid of Him.
For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His highness I cannot endure.
Indeed, no dread of me will make you afraid, nor will my hand be heavy upon you.
“At this also my heart trembles and moves out of its place.
Remove Your stroke from me; I am coming to an end by the hostility of Your hand.
When with rebukes You correct man for sin, You consume like a moth what is precious to him; surely every man is mere vapor. Selah
then will I punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.
