who leaves her eggs in the earth, and warms them in dust,
“Did you give the beautiful wings to the peacocks? Or wings and feathers to the ostrich,
and forgets that a foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them?
Like a bird that strays from her nest, so is a man who strays from his home.
Then it shall be for a man to burn, for he will take some of it and warm himself; he kindles it and bakes bread; he also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and bows down to it.
Even the jackals offer the breast; they nurse their young, yet the daughter of my people has become cruel, like ostriches in the wilderness.
