“But as for you all, return and come now, for I cannot find one wise man among you.
“No doubt but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!
What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that is not in us?
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
For You have hidden their heart from understanding. Therefore will You not exalt them.
Why are we counted as beasts and regarded as stupid in your sight?
Great men are not always wise, nor do the aged always understand judgment.
And so it was, that after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right as My servant Job has.
Turn, I pray, let there be no injustice! Yes, turn again, my righteousness still stands!
Then you will again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of this world foolish?
I speak to your shame. Is it true that there is not even one wise man among you who shall be able to judge between his brothers?
