By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king. He endured by looking to Him who is invisible.

I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

He is the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of every creature.

Now to the eternal, immortal, invisible King, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever. Amen.

He alone has immortality, living in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen, nor can see. To Him be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Remember the former days, after you were enlightened, in which you endured a great struggle of afflictions.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

These all died in faith not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

So after Abraham had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Behold, we consider them blessed who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the purpose of the Lord, that the Lord is very gracious and merciful.

whom, having not seen, you love; and in whom, though you do not see Him now, you believe and you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory,
