The cherubim shall stretch forth their wings upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another. The faces of the cherubim are to face toward the mercy seat.
Under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, the one toward the other. Each one also had two wings which covered its body on the one side and the other.
Each one had four faces. The first face was the face of a cherub, the second face was the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
