These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on the other side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel and Laban and Hazeroth and Dizahab.

He lived in the Wilderness of Paran, and his mother found a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.

They set out from Midian and went to Paran, and they gathered men from Paran and then arrived in Egypt and presented him before Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house and provisions and land.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran.    Selah His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise.

The Israelites set out from the Wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud dwelt in the Wilderness of Paran.

The people journeyed from Kibroth Hattaavah to Hazeroth, and they camped at Hazeroth.

Afterward the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.

And they returned and came to Moses and to Aaron and to all the assembly of the Israelites, to the Wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought back word to them and to the entire assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.

And Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the Lord. All those men were heads of the Israelites.

We will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan or beyond, because our inheritance fell to us on this side of the Jordan to the east.”

We will cross over, armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, so the possession of our inheritance on this side of the Jordan may be ours.”

And they said, “If we have found mercy in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, and do not take us over the Jordan.”

They set out from Rimmon Perez and camped in Libnah.

They set out from Libnah and camped at Rissah.

The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan near Jericho to the east, toward the sunrise.

You will give three cities across the Jordan, and three cities you will give in the land of Canaan, which will be cities of refuge.

So we passed by our brothers, the sons of Esau, who lived in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath and from Ezion Geber, and we turned and passed by the way of the Wilderness of Moab.

Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying: Keep all the commandments which I am commanding you today.

These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

Then Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.

He said: The Lord came from Sinai and rose up from Seir to them; He shone forth from Mount Paran, and He came with ten thousands of holy ones; from His right hand went a fiery law for them.

on this side of the Jordan, in the valley over against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the Israelites struck down, after they had come out of Egypt.

Then Moses called all Israel and said to them: Hear, O Israel, the statutes and ordinances which I am speaking in your hearing today, so that you may learn them, and keep, and do them.

Now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers, as He had said to them. So now, turn and go to your homes, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.

Moses had assigned land in Bashan to half the tribe of Manasseh, and to the other half Joshua assigned land among their brothers on the west side of the Jordan. When Joshua sent them also to their homes and blessed them,

Then the water that flows down from upstream stood still and rose up in a heap very far away at Adam, the city beside Zarethan. The water that flows down toward the Sea of Arabah (the Dead Sea) stopped and was cut off. The people crossed over opposite Jericho.

When all the kings west of the Jordan in the hill country, in the low country, and along all the coast of the Mediterranean Sea toward Lebanon—the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite kings —heard this,

and all that He did to the two Amorite kings on the other side of the Jordan, King Sihon of Heshbon and King Og of Bashan in Ashtaroth.

Now Samuel died. And all the Israelites gathered together and mourned him, and they buried him at his home in Ramah. Then David arose and went down to the Wilderness of Paran.
