So when the Lord observed that they had humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, “They have humbled themselves, so I will not destroy them. I will let some of them escape, and My anger will not pour out against Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father humbled himself. But he increased his guilt all the more.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and those who dwell here, and you have brought yourself low before Me and torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you, declares the Lord.

Say to the king and to the queen mother: “Humble yourselves, sit down, for your beautiful crown shall come down from your head.”

Perhaps their supplication will come before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord has pronounced against this people.”

At the same time my reason returned to me. And for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. And my counselors and my lords sought me out. Then I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.

The voice of the Lord calls to the city— and wisdom will fear Your name: Heed the rod and Him who has appointed it.

The Lord said to him, “Rise and go to Straight Street, and inquire at Judas’ house for someone named Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying,

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
