But just now Timothy has come from you to us and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good memories of us, desiring greatly to see us, as we also desire to see you.

Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings good news of happiness, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Then he came to Derbe and then to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who believed, but his father was a Greek.

After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.

When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was pressed by the Spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions as I delivered them to you.

So now abide faith, hope, and love, these three. But the greatest of these is love.

For we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all the saints,

remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patient hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of God and our Father.

But we, brothers, being taken from you for a short time, in presence, not in heart, endeavored all the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil. Laboring night and day so as not to be an expense to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

Therefore, brothers, during all our afflictions and distress, we have been encouraged about you through your faith.

We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers, as it is fitting, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you abounds toward each other.

Now the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience as my forefathers did, as I continually remember you in my prayers night and day,

whenever I hear of your love and faith, which you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints,

Remember those who are in chains, as if imprisoned with them, and those who are ill treated, since you are also in the body.

Remember those who rule over you, who have proclaimed to you the word of God. Follow their faith, considering the results it has produced in their lives.

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another as He commanded us.
