Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you, or from others, even though we might have made demands as the apostles of Christ.

He unveiled the riches of his glorious kingdom and the costly luxury of his greatness for many days, one hundred and eighty days.

Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should be sharp, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification and not for destruction.

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

For am I now seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? For if I were still trying to please men, I would not be the servant of Christ.

Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.

For they themselves who are circumcised do not keep the law. But they desire to have you circumcised, so that they may boast in your flesh.

For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil. Laboring night and day so as not to be an expense to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and teaching.
