When others are humiliated and you say, “Lift them up,” God will save the humble.

Though the Lord is exalted, He takes note of the humble; but He knows the haughty from a distance.

The fear of the Lord is what wisdom teaches, and humility comes before honor.

A person’s pride will humble him, but a humble spirit will gain honor.

For the High and Exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy says this: “I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and glorify the King of heaven, because all His works are true and His ways are just. He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,
