Even my friend in whom I trusted, one who ate my bread, has raised his heel against me.

Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

He replied, “The one who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl — he will betray Me.

But look, the hand of the one betraying Me is at the table with Me!

He didn’t say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief. He was in charge of the money-bag and would steal part of what was put in it.

I’m not speaking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: The one who eats My bread has raised his heel against Me.

Now by the time of supper, the Devil had already put it into the heart of Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray Him.

Then Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds from the field?
