Then Jacob said to his relatives, “Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a mound, then ate there by the mound.

And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. He rose early the next morning and set up an altar and 12 pillars for the 12 tribes of Israel at the base of the mountain.

At the time you cross the Jordan into the land the Lord your God is giving you, you must set up large stones and cover them with plaster.
