Joshua 24:25

On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people at Shechem and established a statute and ordinance for them.

Then they gave Jacob all their foreign gods and their earrings, and Jacob hid them under the oak near Shechem.

Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord, the king, and the people that they would be the Lord’s people and another covenant between the king and the people.

Then they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their ancestors with all their mind and all their heart.

All Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn it with all their mind. They had sought Him with all their heart, and He was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.

Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, the king, and the people that they would be the Lord’s people.

It is in my heart now to make a covenant with Yahweh, the God of Israel so that His burning anger may turn away from us.

In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement in writing on a sealed document containing the names of our leaders, Levites, and priests.

So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he threw it into the water, the water became drinkable. He made a statute and ordinance for them at Marah and He tested them there.

Moses came and told the people all the commands of the Lord and all the ordinances. Then all the people responded with a single voice, “We will do everything that the Lord has commanded.”

These are the words of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant He had made with them at Horeb.

Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem and summoned Israel’s elders, leaders, judges, and officers, and they presented themselves before God.

Joshua recorded these things in the book of the law of God; he also took a large stone and set it up there under the oak next to the sanctuary of the Lord.
