You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won’t the Judge of all the earth do what is just? ”

Then people will say, “Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth! ”

So God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied and became very numerous.

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

A man will be satisfied with good by the words of his mouth, and the work of a man’s hands will reward him.

Disaster pursues sinners, but good rewards the righteous.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Although a sinner commits crime a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I also know that it will go well with God-fearing people, for they are reverent before Him.

No weapon formed against you will succeed, and you will refute any accusation raised against you in court. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me.” This is the Lord’s declaration.

The Lord said: I will certainly set you free and care for you. I will certainly intercede for you in a time of trouble, in your time of distress, with the enemy.

I will punish you according to what you have done — this is the Lord’s declaration. I will kindle a fire in its forest that will consume everything around it.’ ”

Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.

However, I did give them this command: Obey Me, and then I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.

The person who sins is the one who will die. A son won’t suffer punishment for the father’s iniquity, and a father won’t suffer punishment for the son’s iniquity. The righteousness of the righteous person will be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be on him.

“Pass throughout the city of Jerusalem,” the Lord said to him, “and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the detestable practices committed in it.”

Then the earth will become a wasteland because of its inhabitants and as a result of their actions.

Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth, who carry out what He commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be concealed on the day of the Lord’s anger.

So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

“So he said to him, ‘You will be over five towns.’

Do not eat it, so that you and your children after you will prosper, because you will be doing what is right in the Lord’s sight.

For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints — and you continue to serve them.
