Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord, and He will give a reward to the lender.

But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.

Strengthen the weak hands, steady the shaking knees!

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, drive out demons. You have received free of charge; give free of charge.

and that I did not shrink back from proclaiming to you anything that was profitable or from teaching it to you in public and from house to house.

for I did not shrink back from declaring to you the whole plan of God.

You yourselves know that these hands have provided for my needs and for those who were with me.

After he said this, he knelt down and prayed with all of them.

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.

If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? However, we have not made use of this right; instead we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.

But I will continue to do what I am doing, in order to deny the opportunity of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as our equals in what they boast about.

When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.

So in what way were you treated worse than the other churches, except that I personally did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.

to seek to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

And we exhort you, brothers: warn those who are irresponsible, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.

since they set out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from pagans.
