When they got to the threshing floor of Atad, on the other side of the Jordan, they wept loudly in sorrow. Joseph held a seven-day ceremony of mourning for his father there.

Everyone followed him, playing flutes and celebrating so happily that the sound shook the earth.

But you will have a song to sing like you do on the night of a holy festival. You will celebrate in happiness like those who play pipes as they go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel.

They're like children sitting in the market who tell one another, ‘We played the flute for you but you didn't dance; we sang sad songs but you didn't cry.’

All the people there were crying and mourning for her. “Don't cry,” Jesus told them. “She's not dead, she's just sleeping.”
