Jotham, son of Uzziah, became king of Judah in the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel.
Azariah died and was buried with his forefathers in the City of David. His son Jotham succeeded him as king.
King Uzziah was a leper until the day he died. He lived by himself as a leper, barred from entering the Lord's Temple, while his son Jotham was placed in charge of the king's affairs and governed the country.
Jotham was twenty-five when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem for sixteen years. His mother's name was Jerushah, daughter of Zadok.
