I am innocent, LORD! Won't you listen as I pray and beg for help? I am honest! Please hear my prayer.

Before I confessed my sins, my bones felt limp, and I groaned all day long.

My body is twisted and bent, and I groan all day long.

I run to you for protection. Why have you turned me away? Why must enemies ill-treat me and make me sad?

Listen to my concerns, God, and protect me from my terrible enemies.

But God did listen and answered my prayer.

When I think of you, I feel restless and weak.

I cry like a swallow; I mourn like a dove. My eyes are red from looking to you, LORD. I am terribly abused. Please come and help me.

We growl like bears and mourn like doves. We hope for justice and victory, but they escape us.

I begged you to listen. “Help!” I shouted. “Save me!” You answered my prayer
