and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was not enough food in other countries, but all over Egypt there was plenty.

The famine was bad everywhere in Egypt and Canaan, and the people were suffering terribly.

Don't let us starve and our land be ruined. If you'll give us grain to eat and seed to plant, we'll sell ourselves and our land to the king. We'll become his slaves.

Then I saw a pale green horse. Its rider was named Death, and Death's Kingdom followed behind. They were given power over one fourth of the earth, and they could kill its people with swords, famines, diseases, and wild animals.
