When justice rules a nation, everyone is glad; when injustice rules, everyone groans.

But still, he punishes rulers who abuse their people.

When honest people prosper and the wicked disappear, the whole city celebrates.

When an honest person wins, it's time to celebrate; when crooks are in control, it's best to hide.

A ruler who ill-treats the poor is like a roaring lion or a bear hunting for food.

When crooks are in control, everyone tries to hide, but when they lose power, good people are everywhere.

Some things rulers do are terribly unfair:

they honour fools, but dishonour the rich;

I looked again and saw people being ill-treated everywhere on earth. They were crying, but no one was there to offer comfort, and those who ill-treated them were powerful.

When Herod found out that the wise men from the east had tricked him, he was very angry. He gave orders for his men to kill all the boys who lived in or near Bethlehem and were two years old and younger. This was based on what he had learnt from the wise men.

When King Herod heard about this, he was worried, and so was everyone else in Jerusalem.

At the sound of the seventh trumpet, loud voices were heard in heaven. They said, “Now the kingdom of this world belongs to our Lord and to his Chosen One! And he will rule for ever and ever!”
