Late one afternoon, David got up from a nap and was walking around on the flat roof of his palace. A beautiful young woman was down below in her courtyard, bathing as her religion required. David happened to see her, and he sent one of his servants to find out who she was. The servant came back and told David, “Her name is Bathsheba. She is the daughter of Eliam, and she is the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” David sent some messengers to bring her to his palace. She came to him, and he slept with her. Then she returned home.

Job, listen to me! Pay close attention.

Take away my foolish desires, and let me find life by walking with you.

Don't let yourself be attracted by the charm and lovely eyes of someone like that.

Kissing you is more delicious than drinking the finest wine. How wonderful and tasty!

If your eye causes you to sin, get rid of it. You would be better off to go into God's kingdom with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell.

Don't destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the Spirit fill your life.

Our foolish pride comes from this world, and so do our selfish desires and our desire to have everything we see. None of this comes from the Father.
