Elisha turned round and stared at the boys. Then he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Straight away two bears ran out of the woods and ripped to pieces forty-two of the boys.

God blesses those people who refuse evil advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God.

“How much longer will you enjoy being stupid fools? Won't you ever stop sneering and laughing at knowledge?

“So when you are struck by some terrible disaster,

If you have good sense, it will show when you speak. But if you are stupid, you will be beaten with a stick.

A sensible person accepts correction, but you can't beat sense into a fool.

Foolish talk will get you into a lot of trouble.

Horses and donkeys must be beaten and bridled— and so must fools.

The LORD sneers at those who sneer at him, but he is kind to everyone who is humble.

Straight away he followed her like an ox on the way to be slaughtered, or like a fool on the way to be punished

Good sense is good for you, but if you boast, you hurt yourself.

So you had better stop sneering or you will be in worse shape than ever before. I heard the LORD All-Powerful threaten the whole country with destruction.

All who are cruel and arrogant will be gone for ever. Those who live by crime will disappear,

The Lord corrects the people he loves and disciplines those he calls his own.”
