You protect them and keep them alive. You make them happy here in this land, and you don't hand them over to their enemies.

The king has pity on the weak and the helpless and protects those in need.

If you ill-treat the poor, you insult your Creator; if you are kind to them, you show him respect.

Giving to the poor will keep you from poverty, but if you close your eyes to their needs, everyone will curse you.

If you make money by charging high interest rates, you will lose it all to someone who cares for the poor.

Be generous, and some day you will be rewarded.

Share what you have with seven or eight others, because you never know when disaster may strike.

The king will answer, “Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me.”

If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.

If you forget to bring in a stack of harvested grain, don't go back in the field to get it. Leave it for the poor, including foreigners, orphans, and widows, and the LORD will make you successful in everything you do.

I am not trying to get something from you, but I want you to receive the blessings that come from giving.

God is always fair. He will remember how you helped his people in the past and how you are still helping them. You belong to God, and he won't forget the love you have shown his people.
