Too much pride brings disgrace; humility leads to honour.

If you respect the LORD, you will hate evil. I hate pride and conceit and deceitful lies.

If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honoured.

Be humble in the Lord's presence, and he will honour you.

All you young people should obey your elders. In fact, everyone should be humble towards everyone else. The Scriptures say, “God opposes proud people, but he helps everyone who is humble.”
