“He cursed others. Now place a curse on him! He never wished others well. Wish only trouble for him!

We are rewarded or punished for what we say and do.

Good people never have trouble, but troublemakers have more than enough.

No one else can really know how sad or happy you are.

Don't be stupid and believe all you hear; be clever and know where you are headed.

Make your words good— you will be glad you did.

Good sense is good for you, but if you boast, you hurt yourself.

I, the LORD, have put a curse on those who turn from me and trust in human strength.

Your own sins will punish you, because it was a bitter mistake for you to reject me without fear of punishment. I, the LORD All-Powerful, have spoken.

So why do you refuse to come back to me? Why do you hold so tightly to your false gods?

So in my fierce anger, I will punish the Israelites for what they have done, and they will know that I am furious. I, the LORD, have spoken.

You are nothing more than a stubborn cow— so stubborn that I, the LORD, cannot feed you like lambs in an open pasture.

Nothing will remain of anyone who has turned away and rejected me.

But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again. The water I give is like a flowing fountain that gives eternal life.”

We can be proud of our clear conscience. We have always lived honestly and sincerely, especially when we were with you. And we were guided by God's wonderful kindness instead of by the wisdom of this world.

Do your own work well, and then you will have something to be proud of. But don't compare yourself with others.

If you follow your selfish desires, you will harvest destruction, but if you follow the Spirit, you will harvest eternal life.

My friends, watch out! Don't let evil thoughts or doubts make any of you turn from the living God.
