After I have given you the land of Canaan as your permanent possession, here is what you must do, if I ever put mildew on the walls of any of your homes.

but the LORD appeared to Abram and promised, “I will give this land to your family for ever.” Abram then built an altar there for the LORD.

Now walk back and forth across the land, because I am giving it to you.

I will give you and them the land in which you are now a foreigner. I will give the whole land of Canaan to your family for ever, and I will be their God.

He places a curse on the home of everyone who is evil, but he blesses the home of every good person.

The LORD told Moses and Aaron to say to the people:

to say to the community of Israel: After you enter the land I am giving you, the first bundle of wheat from each crop must be given to me. So bring it to a priest

to say to the community of Israel: After you enter the land that I am giving you, it must be allowed to rest one year out of every seven.

Isn't the whole city frightened when the trumpet signals an attack? Isn't it the LORD who brings disaster on a city?

At the LORD's command, houses great and small will be smashed to pieces.

I am the LORD, and it makes sense to respect my power to punish. So listen to my message for the city of Jerusalem:

The LORD All-Powerful has said, “I am sending this scroll into the house of everyone who is a robber or tells lies in my name, and it will remain there until every piece of wood and stone in that house crumbles.”

then after the LORD helps Israel capture the land, you can return to your own land. You will no longer have to stay with the others.

We will cross the River Jordan, ready to fight for the LORD in Canaan. But the land we will inherit as our own will be on this side of the river.”

to tell the people of Israel: After you have crossed the River Jordan and are settled in Canaan,

Now I'll tell you the laws and teachings that you have to obey as long as you live. Your ancestors worshipped the LORD, and he is giving you this land.

Soon you will go into the land and attack the nations. The LORD your God will destroy them and give you their lands, towns, and homes. Then after you are settled,

The LORD is giving you the land, and soon you will conquer it, settle down,

Go up into the Abarim Mountain range here in Moab across the Jordan valley from Jericho. And when you reach the top of Mount Nebo, you will be able to see the land of Canaan, which I am giving to Israel.

You will no longer suffer with the same horrible diseases that you sometimes had in Egypt. You will be healthy, but the LORD will make your enemies suffer from those diseases.

Many years later, the LORD told Joshua: Now you are very old, but there is still a lot of land that Israel has not yet taken.

You take away life, and you give life. You send people down to the world of the dead and bring them back again.
