But now that he's dead, why should I go without eating? I can't bring him back! Some day I will join him in death, but he can't return to me.

We each must die and disappear like water poured out on the ground. But God doesn't take our lives. Instead, he finds ways of bringing us back when we run away.

Those enemies are now dead and can never live again. You have punished them— they are destroyed, completely forgotten.

I thought I would never again see you, my LORD, or any of the people who live on this earth.
