And so, I ask you, God, why pick on me?
Do you really enjoy frightening a fallen leaf?
You have tied my feet down and keep me surrounded;
Is he correcting you for worshipping him?
God isn't a mere human like me. I can't put him on trial.
I am your servant. Don't try me in your court, because no one is innocent by your standards.
Why do we humans mean anything to you, our LORD? Why do you care about us?
Then I ask, “Why do you care about us humans? Why are you concerned for us weaklings?”
We know that everything in the Law was written for those who are under its power. The Law says these things to stop anyone from making excuses and to let God show that the whole world is guilty.
