When they were outside, one of the angels said, “Run for your lives! Don't even look back. And don't stop in the valley. Run to the hills, where you will be safe.”

When the LORD All-Powerful punishes Egypt with his mighty arm, the Egyptians will become terribly weak and will tremble with fear.

Everyone who worships idols as though they were gods will be terribly ashamed.

You are the LORD's people, but you made him terribly angry, and he struck you with his mighty arm. Mountains shook, and dead bodies covered the streets like rubbish. The LORD is still angry, and he is ready to strike you again.

I heard the crowds whisper, “Everyone is afraid. Now's our chance to accuse Jeremiah!” All of my so called friends are just waiting for me to make a mistake. They say, “Perhaps Jeremiah can be tricked. Then we can overpower him and get even at last.”

I have struck down your mighty god Apis and chased him away.

The foreign soldiers you hired will turn and run. But they are doomed, like well-fed calves being led to the butcher.

His fearsome army will surround you, taking your tents and possessions, your sheep and camels.

I, the LORD All-Powerful, will send neighbouring nations to strike you with terror. You will be scattered, with no one to care for your refugees.

The LORD said, “Don't work in your fields or walk along the roads. It's too dangerous. The enemy is well armed

They will be horrified, and when I flash my sword in victory on the day of your death, their kings will tremble in the fear of what could happen to them.

will feast on the bodies of warriors and foreign rulers that I will sacrifice like sheep, goats, and bulls.

Nineveh is like a pond with leaking water. Shouts of “Stop! Don't go!” can be heard everywhere. But everyone is leaving.

Enemy soldiers shout, “The city is full of treasure and all kinds of wealth. Steal her silver! Grab her gold!”

The great day of the LORD is coming soon, very soon. On that terrible day, fearsome shouts of warriors will be heard everywhere.
