Solomon, my son, worship God and obey him with all your heart and mind, just as I have done. He knows all your thoughts and your reasons for doing things, and so if you turn to him, he will hear your prayers. But if you ignore him, he will reject you for ever.

It seemed like a dream when the LORD brought us back to the city of Zion.

Our LORD, we ask you to bless our people again, and let us be like streams in the Southern Desert.

We worship you, Lord, and we should always pray whenever we find out that we have sinned. Then we won't be swept away by a raging flood.

God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble.

The LORD will have mercy on Israel and will let them be his chosen people once again. He will bring them back to their own land, and foreigners will join them as part of Israel.

Don't be afraid! I am with you. From both east and west I will bring you together.

I will say to the north and to the south, “Free my sons and daughters! Let them return from distant lands.

The LORD did not speak in a dark secret place or command Jacob's descendants to search for him in vain. The LORD speaks the truth, and this is what he says

Turn to the LORD! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near.

But later, I will have pity on these nations and bring them back to their own lands.

You are unfaithful children, but you belong to me. Come home! I'll take one or two of you from each town and clan and bring you to Zion.

Israel, you belong to me, so don't be afraid. You deserved to be punished; that's why I scattered you in distant nations. But I am with you, and some day I will destroy those nations. Then I will bring you and your descendants back to your land, where I will protect you and give you peace. Then your fears will be gone. I, the LORD, have spoken.

The LORD said: Israel, I will be kind to you and let you come home. Jerusalem now lies in ruins, but you will rebuild it, complete with a new palace.

Some day I will let my people from both Israel and Judah return to the land I gave their ancestors.”

But I, the LORD, tell you to dry your tears. Some day your children will come home from the enemy's land. Then all you have done for them will be greatly rewarded. So don't lose hope. I, the LORD, have spoken.

The LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel, said: I promise to set the people of Judah free and to lead them back to their home towns. And when I do, they will once again say, “We pray that the LORD will bless his home, the sacred hill in Jerusalem where his temple stands.”

The people of Israel said, “Tell everyone in Zion! The LORD has taken revenge for what Babylon did to us.”

Some of you people of Judah will be left alive, but I will force you to go to foreign countries, and you will wish you were dead. I, the LORD God All-Powerful, have spoken.

and then say: I, the LORD God, will gather the people of Israel and bring them home from the foreign nations where they now live.

Now I will show mercy to the people of Israel and bring them back from the nations where they are living. They are Jacob's descendants, so I will bless them and show that I am holy.

I'll make Israel prosper again. You will rebuild your towns and live in them. You will drink wine from your own vineyards and eat the fruit you grow.

But they don't know that I, the LORD, have gathered them here to grind them like grain.

I will lead you home, and with your own eyes you will see me bless you with all you once owned. Then you will be famous everywhere on this earth. I, the LORD, have spoken!

Isaiah was fearless enough to tell that the Lord had said, “I was found by people who were not looking for me. I appeared to the ones who were not asking about me.”

I have told you everything the LORD your God will do for you, and I've also told you the curses he will put on you if you reject him. He will scatter you in faraway countries, but when you realize that he is punishing you,

Then he will stop punishing you and treat you with kindness. He may have scattered you to the furthest countries on earth, but he will bring you back

to the land that had belonged to your ancestors and make you even more successful and powerful than they ever were.
