Now the LORD will get furious and do to his enemies, both near and far, what they did to his people.

God always treats everyone the way they deserve,

and I am very kind.” The Lord rewards each of us according to what we do.

I am the LORD All-Powerful, the mighty ruler of Israel, and I make you a promise: you are now my enemy, and I will show my anger by taking revenge on you.

Look! The powerful LORD God is coming to rule with his mighty arm. He brings with him what he has taken in war, and he rewards his people.

I said to myself, “I'm completely worn out; my time has been wasted. But I did it for the LORD God, and he will reward me.”

“I alone trampled the grapes! None of the nations helped. I trampled nations in my anger and stained my clothes with their blood.

In my fury I trampled on nations and made them drunk; their blood poured out everywhere on earth.”

I have written this down; I won't keep silent. I'll pay them back just as their sins deserve.

I, the LORD, will make them pay for their sins and for those of their ancestors— they have disgraced me by burning incense on mountains.

When you see this happen, you will celebrate; your strength will return faster than grass can sprout. Then everyone will know that the LORD is present with his servants, but he is angry with his enemies.

The LORD will come down like a whirlwind with his flaming chariots. He will be terribly furious and punish his enemies with fire.

Do you hear that noise in the city and those shouts coming from the temple? It is the LORD shouting as he punishes his enemies.

But I know your deeds and your thoughts, and I will make sure you get what you deserve.

With great wisdom you make plans, and with your great power you do all the mighty things you planned. Nothing we do is hidden from your eyes, and you reward or punish us as we deserve.

Attack from every side! Babylon surrenders! The enemy tears down its walls and towers. I am taking my revenge by doing to Babylon what it did to other cities.

Attack Babylon, enemy archers; set up camp around the city, and don't let anyone escape. It challenged me, the holy God, so do to it what it did to other cities.

The LORD was so fiercely angry that he burnt the city of Zion to the ground.

You will be punished for becoming prostitutes and for worshipping idols, and you will know that I am the LORD God.

When you invade Israel, I will become furious,

You will feel my fierce anger until I have finished taking revenge. Then you will know that I, the LORD, was furious because of your disobedience.

Those who live far away will be struck with deadly diseases. Those who live nearby will be killed in war. And the ones who are left will starve to death. I will let loose my anger on them!

You people of Tyre and Sidon and you Philistines, why are you doing this? Are you trying to get even with me? I'll strike back before you know what's happened.

I'll really get furious and punish you terribly for your sins!

The LORD God demands loyalty. In his anger, he takes revenge on his enemies.

The Son of Man will soon come in the glory of his Father and with his angels to reward all people for what they have done.

Now bring me the enemies who didn't want me to be their king. Kill them while I watch!”

This time of punishment is what is written about in the Scriptures.

God will reward each of us for what we have done.

I will take revenge on my hateful enemies. I will sharpen my sword and let it flash like lightning.

But if you turn against the LORD, he will quickly destroy you.

The great city of Babylon split into three parts, and the cities of other nations fell. So God made Babylon drink from the wine cup that was filled with his anger.

From his mouth a sharp sword went out to attack the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod and will show the fierce anger of God All-Powerful by trampling on the grapes in the pit where wine is made.
