Foreigners who worship me must not say, “The LORD won't let us be part of his people.” Men who are unable to become fathers must no longer say, “We are dried up trees.”
Foreigners will hear about you and your mighty power, and some of them will come to live among your people Israel. If any of them pray towards this temple,
The LORD will have mercy on Israel and will let them be his chosen people once again. He will bring them back to their own land, and foreigners will join them as part of Israel.
Then I will set up monuments in my temple with your names written on them. This will be much better than having children, because these monuments will stand there for ever.
But only you and your sons can serve as priests at the altar and in the most holy place. Your work as priests is a gift from me, and anyone else who tries to do that work must be put to death.
Some of them believed what Paul had said, and they became followers with Paul and Silas. Some Gentiles and many important women also believed the message.
He chose me to be a servant of Christ Jesus for the Gentiles and to do the work of a priest in the service of his good news. God did this so that the Holy Spirit could make the Gentiles into a holy offering, pleasing to him.
At that time you did not know about Christ. You were foreigners to the people of Israel, and you had no part in the promises that God had made to them. You were living in this world without hope and without God,
