Isaiah 55:3

Pay close attention! Come to me and live. I will promise you the eternal love and loyalty that I promised David.

I will always keep the promise I have made to you and your descendants, because I am your God and their God.

You will have power and rule until nations obey you and come bringing gifts.

I have ruled this way, and God will never break his promise to me. God's promise is complete and unchanging; he will always help me and give me what I hope for.

Please bless my descendants and let them always be your chosen kings. You have already promised, and I'm sure that you will bless my family for ever.

Always remember the love you had for your servant David, so that you will not reject your chosen kings.

I have made up my mind to obey your laws for ever, no matter what.

Keep me alive, so I can praise you, and let me find help in your teachings.

My friends, I beg you to listen as I teach.

My love for him will last, and my agreement with him will never be broken.

“One of David's descendants will always be king, and his family will rule until the sky disappears.

Then he said, “I am the LORD your God, and I cure your diseases. If you obey me by doing right and by following my laws and teachings, I won't punish you with the diseases I sent on the Egyptians.”

My child, listen carefully to everything I say.

Obey me, and you will live! Let my instructions be your greatest treasure.

The LORD says: You are my people and nation! So pay attention to me. My teaching will cause justice to shine like a light for every nation.

Every mountain and hill may disappear. But I will always be kind and merciful to you; I won't break my agreement to give your nation peace.

For a while, I turned away in furious anger. Now I will have mercy and love you for ever! I, your protector and LORD, make this promise.”

I, the LORD, love justice! But I hate robbery and injustice. My people, I solemnly promise to reward you with an eternal agreement.

Then you will be my servants, and I will choose a king for you from the family of David.

In the same way, I will never reject the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or break my promise that they will always have a descendant of David as their king. I will be kind to my people Israel, and they will be successful again.

I said, “If you will just obey the LORD, the Babylonians won't hand you over to those Jews. You will be allowed to live, and all will go well for you.

You will ask the way to Zion and then come and join with me in making an agreement you won't break or forget.

But I remember the agreement I made with you when you were young, and so I will make you a promise that will last for ever.

He will be your leader, and I will be your God. I, the LORD, have spoken.

The people of Israel are my sheep, and I solemnly promise that they will live in peace. I will chase away every wild animal from the desert and the forest, so my sheep will not be afraid.

I solemnly promise to bless the people of Israel with unending peace. I will protect them and let them become a powerful nation. My temple will stand in Israel for all time,

Obey them and you will live. I am the LORD.

The LORD keeps saying, “Israel, turn back to me and you will live!

Turn back to the LORD, you descendants of Joseph, and you will live. If you don't, the LORD will attack like fire. Bethel will burn to the ground, and no one can save it.

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.

But God has blessed you, because your eyes can see and your ears can hear!

While Peter was still speaking, the shadow of a bright cloud passed over them. From the cloud a voice said, “This is my own dear Son, and I am pleased with him. Listen to what he says!”

My sheep know my voice, and I know them. They follow me,

Everything and everyone that the Father has given me will come to me, and I won't turn any of them away.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, “If you are thirsty, come to me and drink!

Anyone who belongs to God will listen to his message. But you refuse to listen, because you don't belong to God.

God raised Jesus from death and will never let his body decay. It is just as God said, “I will make to you the same holy promise that I made to David.”

Moses said that a person could become acceptable to God by obeying the Law. He did this when he wrote, “If you want to live, you must do all that the Law commands.”

God gives peace, and he raised our Lord Jesus Christ from death. Now Jesus is like a Great Shepherd whose blood was used to make God's eternal agreement with his flock.
