Jerusalem, wake up! Stand up and be strong. Holy city of Zion, dress in your best clothes. Those foreigners who ruined your sacred city won't bother you again.

He is wonderful! Praise him and bring an offering into his temple. Worship the LORD, majestic and holy.

The nation's leaders and their families settled in Jerusalem. But there was room for only one out of every ten of the remaining families, and so they asked God to show them who would live there.

Your glorious power will be seen on the day you begin to rule. You will wear the sacred robes and shine like the morning sun in all your strength.

Make Aaron some beautiful clothes that are worthy of a high priest.

Jerusalem, wake up! Stand up! You've drunk too much from the cup filled with the LORD's anger. You have swallowed every drop, and you can't walk straight.

Wake up! Do something, LORD. Be strong and ready. Wake up! Do what you did for our people long ago. Didn't you chop up Rahab the monster?

Jerusalem, stand up! Shine! Your new day is dawning. The glory of the LORD shines brightly on you.

Your people will live right and always own the land; they are the trees I planted to bring praise to me.

I celebrate and shout because of my LORD God. His saving power and justice are the very clothes I wear. They are more beautiful than the jewellery worn by a bride or a groom.

especially in Jerusalem. He sent me to give them flowers in place of their sorrow, olive oil in place of tears, and joyous praise in place of broken hearts. They will be called “Trees of Justice”, planted by the LORD to honour his name.

So the angel told some of the people to remove Joshua's filthy clothes. Then he said to Joshua, “This means you are forgiven. Now I will dress you in priestly clothes.”

Next, the devil took Jesus to the holy city and made him stand on the highest part of the temple.

Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong.

But don't measure the courtyard outside the temple building. Leave it out. It has been given to those people who don't know God, and they will trample all over the holy city for forty-two months.

Then I saw New Jerusalem, that holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.

But nothing unworthy will be allowed to enter. No one who is dirty-minded or who tells lies will be there. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life will be in the city.
