You said to the Red Sea, “Dry up!” Then you led your people across on land as dry as a desert.

By your power you made a path through the sea, and you smashed the heads of sea monsters.

You walked through the water of the mighty sea, but your footprints were never seen.

But the sea had made a wall of water on each side of the Israelites; so they walked through on dry land.

The people you rescued were led by your powerful love to your holy place.

The Lord will dry up the arm of the Red Sea near Egypt, and he will send a scorching wind to divide the River Euphrates into seven streams that anyone can step across.

Then for his people who survive, there will be a good road from Assyria, just as there was a good road for their ancestors when they left Egypt.

The people the LORD has rescued will come back singing as they enter Zion. Happiness will be a crown they will always wear. They will celebrate and shout because all sorrows and worries will be gone far away.

A good road will be there, and it will be named “God's Sacred Highway”. It will be for God's people; no one unfit to worship God will walk on that road. And no fools can travel on that highway.

No lions or other wild animals will come near that road; only those the LORD has saved will travel there.

I will destroy the mountains and what grows on them; I will dry up rivers and ponds.

I am the one who cut a path through the mighty ocean.

I came and called out, but you didn't answer. Have I lost my power to rescue and save? At my command oceans and rivers turn into deserts; fish rot and stink for lack of water.

Then you will be called, ‘The LORD's Own People, The Ones He Rescued!’ Your city will be known as a good place to live and a city full of people.”

It troubled the LORD to see them in trouble, and his angel saved them. The LORD was truly merciful, so he rescued his people. He took them in his arms and carried them all those years.

I, the LORD, will work miracles just as I did when I led you out of Egypt.

My people will go through an ocean of troubles, but I will overcome the waves and dry up the deepest part of the Nile. Assyria's great pride will be put down, and the power of Egypt will disappear.
