God brings down rulers and turns them into nothing.

God removes priests and others who have great power—

puts mighty kings to shame, and takes away their power.

But the LORD will take revenge on those who conquer you, and he will make them wander across desert sands.

God destroys the courage of rulers and kings and makes cowards of them.

When the LORD comes, everyone who is proud will be made humble, and the LORD alone will be honoured.

The LORD All-Powerful has chosen a day when those who are proud and conceited will be put down.

The LORD All-Powerful planned it to bring shame and disgrace to those who are honoured by everyone on earth.

Edom will be called “Kingdom of Nothing”. Its rulers will also be nothing.

You think you are clever and wise.

with its king and leaders. I, the LORD, have spoken!
