Elijah looked around, and by his head was a jar of water and some baked bread. He sat up, ate and drank, then lay down and went back to sleep.

When you are suffering and in need, he will come to your rescue, and your families will grow as fast as a herd of sheep.

He gives food to his worshippers and always keeps his agreement with them.

Who may stay in God's temple or live on the holy mountain of the LORD?

You make my feet run as fast as those of a deer, and you help me stand on the mountains.

But the LORD watches over all who honour him and trust his kindness.

Young lions may go hungry or even starve, but if you trust the LORD, you will never miss out on anything good.

The LORD is a mighty tower where his people can run for safety—

You have been a place of safety for the poor and needy in times of trouble. Brutal enemies pounded us like a heavy rain or the heat of the sun at midday, but you were our shelter.

The Lord has given you trouble and sorrow as your food and drink. But now you will again see the Lord, your teacher, and he will guide you.

You, the LORD's people, will live in peace, calm and secure,

They won't go hungry or get thirsty; they won't be bothered by the scorching sun or hot desert winds. I will be merciful while leading them along to streams of water.

Then you will truly enjoy knowing the LORD. He will let you rule from the highest mountains and bless you with the land of your ancestor Jacob. The LORD has spoken!
