Can you depend on him to use his great strength and do your heavy work?

The LORD doesn't care about the strength of horses or powerful armies.

In war the strength of a horse cannot be trusted to take you to safety.

They have endless treasures of silver and gold; they have countless horses and war chariots.

You are in for trouble if you go to Egypt for help, or if you depend on an army of chariots or a powerful cavalry. Instead you should depend on and trust the holy LORD God of Israel.

The Egyptians are mere humans. They aren't God. Their horses are made of flesh; they can't live for ever. When the LORD shows his power, he will destroy the Egyptians and all who depend on them. Together they will fall.

When King Zedekiah and his troops saw that Jerusalem had been captured, they tried to escape from the city that same night. They went to the king's garden, where they slipped through the gate between the two city walls and headed towards the valley of the River Jordan.

Get the war chariots ready, you people of Lachish. You led Jerusalem into sin, just as Israel did.

Their cavalry troops are faster than leopards, more ferocious than wolves hunting at sunset, and swifter than hungry eagles suddenly swooping down.

The LORD will let you be defeated by your enemies, and you will scatter in all directions. You will be a horrible sight for the other nations to see,

Foreigners who speak a strange language will be sent to attack you without warning, just like an eagle swooping down.
