Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD was pleased with him.

They were written for us, since we will also be accepted because of our faith in God, who raised our Lord Jesus to life.

This means that everyone who has faith will share in the blessings that were given to Abraham because of his faith.

This is what the Scriptures mean by saying, “Abraham had faith in God, and God was pleased with him.” That's how Abraham became God's friend.
