Ezra 7:25

Ezra, use the wisdom God has given you and choose officials and leaders to govern the people of Western Province. These leaders should know God's laws and have them taught to anyone who doesn't know them.

So the king said to them, “No one could possibly handle this better than Joseph, since the Spirit of God is with him.”

The king told Joseph, “God is the one who has shown you these things. No one else is as wise as you are or knows as much as you do.

Everyone in Israel was amazed when they heard how Solomon had made his decision. They realized that God had given him wisdom to judge fairly.

The king replied, “Get one of the Israelite priests we brought here and send him back to Israel. He can live there and teach them about the god of that country.”

May he give you wisdom and knowledge, so that you can rule Israel according to his Law.

He said, “Twenty-four thousand of the Levites will be in charge of the temple, six thousand will be temple officials and judges,

Ezra, it's up to you to do something! We will support whatever you do. So be brave!

King Darius sent this message: Governor Tattenai of Western Province and Shethar Bozenai, you and your advisers must stay away from the temple.

Ezra had spent his entire life studying and obeying the Law of the LORD and teaching it to others.

For three hours they stood and listened to the Law of the LORD their God, and then for the next three hours they confessed their sins and worshipped the LORD.

The Law of the LORD is perfect; it gives us new life. His teachings last for ever, and they give wisdom to ordinary people.

All wisdom comes from the LORD, and so do common sense and understanding.

The Law of the Lord is a lamp, and its teachings shine brightly. Correction and self-control will lead you through life.

You priests should be eager to spread knowledge, and everyone should come to you for instruction, because you speak for me, the LORD All-Powerful.

So he told them, “Every student of the Scriptures who becomes a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like someone who brings out new and old treasures from the storeroom.”

When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw the large crowd that was like sheep without a shepherd. He felt sorry for the people and started teaching them many things.

After you are settled in the towns that you will receive from the LORD your God, the people in each town must appoint judges and other officers. Those of you who become judges must be completely fair when you make legal decisions, even if someone important is involved. Don't take bribes to give unfair decisions. Bribes keep people who are wise from seeing the truth and turn honest people into liars.

We announce the message about Christ, and we use all our wisdom to warn and teach everyone, so that all Christ's followers will grow and become mature.

If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking.
