The LORD is constantly watching everyone, and he gives strength to those who faithfully obey him. But you have done a foolish thing, and your kingdom will never be at peace again.

God has told the king, his advisers, and his powerful officials to treat me with kindness. The LORD God has helped me, and I have been able to bring many Jewish leaders back to Jerusalem.

I was ashamed to ask the king to send soldiers and cavalry to protect us against enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king that our God takes care of everyone who truly worships him, but that he gets very angry and punishes anyone who refuses to obey.

You said to me, “I will point out the road that you should follow. I will be your teacher and watch over you.

But the LORD watches over all who honour him and trust his kindness.

If you obey the LORD, he will watch over you and answer your prayers.

Even the most angry people will praise you when you are furious.

Be brave when you face your enemies. Your courage will show them that they are going to be destroyed, and it will show you that you will be saved. God will make all this happen,

The Lord watches over everyone who obeys him, and he listens to their prayers. But he opposes everyone who does evil.”
