Ezra 10:11

Now you must confess your sins to the LORD God of your ancestors and obey him. Divorce your foreign wives and don't have anything to do with the rest of the foreigners who live around here.

Hezekiah thanked the Levites for doing such a good job, leading the celebration. The worshippers celebrated for seven days by offering sacrifices, by eating the sacred meals, and by praising the LORD God of their ancestors.

Ezra the priest stood up and said: You have broken God's Law by marrying foreign women, and you have made the whole nation guilty!

Everyone in the crowd shouted: You're right! We will do what you say.

if we follow your advice and the advice of others who truly respect the laws of God. We must promise God that we will divorce our foreign wives and send them away, together with their children.

Later the Jewish leaders came to me and said: Many Israelites, including priests and Levites, are living just like the people around them. Following the reading of the Law of Moses, the people of Israel started sending away anyone who had any foreign ancestors.

They refused to let foreigners join them, as they met to confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors.

So I confessed my sins and told them all to you. I said, “I'll tell the LORD each one of my sins.” Then you forgave me and took away my guilt.

If you don't confess your sins, you will be a failure. But God will be merciful if you confess your sins and give them up.

To them, I, the LORD, say: Respect the Sabbath, obey me completely, and keep our agreement.

Just admit that you rebelled and worshipped foreign gods under large trees everywhere.

I will judge each of you for what you've done. So stop sinning, or else you will certainly be punished.

The leaders called the man back and said, “Swear by God to tell the truth! We know that Jesus is a sinner.”

Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.

The Lord also says, “Leave them and stay away! Don't touch anything that isn't clean. Then I will welcome you

Then you will live a life that honours the Lord, and you will always please him by doing good deeds. You will come to know God even better.

I pray that God will make you ready to obey him and that you will always be eager to do right. May Jesus help you do what pleases God. To Jesus Christ be glory for ever and ever! Amen.
