From now on, your family must circumcise every baby boy when he is eight days old. You must even circumcise any man or boy you have as a slave, both those born in your homes and those you buy from foreigners. This will be a sign that my promise to you will last for ever.

From then on, you must give him every firstborn son from your families and every firstborn male from your animals, because these belong to him.

I said, “LORD God, please don't make me do that! Never in my life have I eaten food that would make me unacceptable to you. I've never eaten anything that died a natural death or was killed by a wild animal or that you said was unclean.”

I am the LORD your God, and you must dedicate yourselves to me and be holy, just as I am holy. Don't become disgusting by eating any of these unclean creatures.

I brought you out of Egypt so that I could be your God. Now you must become holy, because I am holy!

Her son must be circumcised on the eighth day,

If you happen to find a dead animal and eat it, you must take a bath and wash your clothes, but you are still unclean until evening.

Newborn cattle, sheep, or goats must remain with their mothers for seven days, but on the eighth day, you may send them up in smoke to me, and I will accept the offering.

I command you not to eat anything that is killed by a wild animal or dies a natural death. This would make you unclean.

to say to the people: Don't eat the fat of cattle, sheep, or goats.

If one of your animals dies or is killed by some wild animal, you may do anything with its fat except eat it.

And no matter where you live, you must not eat the blood of any bird or animal,

You belong to the LORD your God, so if you happen to find a dead animal, don't eat its meat. You may give it to foreigners who live in your town or sell it to foreigners who are visiting your town. Don't boil a young goat in its mother's milk.

If the firstborn animal of a cow or sheep or goat is a male, it must be given to the LORD. Don't put firstborn cattle to work or cut wool from firstborn sheep.
