At first, Lot just stood there. But the LORD wanted to save him. So the angels took Lot, his wife, and his two daughters by the hand and led them out of the city.

Then David said: Zadok, take the sacred chest back to Jerusalem. If the LORD is pleased with me, he will bring me back and let me see it and his tent again.

Each day you led your people with a thick cloud, and at night you showed the way with a flaming fire.

You said to the Red Sea, “Dry up!” Then you led your people across on land as dry as a desert.

Remember the people you rescued long ago, the tribe you chose to be your very own. Think of Mount Zion, your home;

You guided your people like a flock of sheep, and you chose Moses and Aaron to be their leaders.

They remembered God Most High, the mighty rock that kept them safe.

Shepherd of Israel, you lead the descendants of Joseph, and you sit on your throne above the winged creatures. Listen to our prayer and let your light shine

struck down by fear. Our LORD, your powerful arm kept them still as a rock until the people you rescued for your very own had marched by.

You will let your people settle on your chosen mountain, where you built your home and your temple.

I am the LORD your God, the one who brought you out of Egypt where you were slaves.

Here is my message for Israel: “I am the LORD! And with my mighty power I will punish the Egyptians and free you from slavery.

Didn't you dry up the deep sea and make a road for your people to follow safely across?

Our holy God lives for ever in the highest heavens, and this is what he says: Though I live high above in the holy place, I am here to help those who are humble and depend only on me.

It troubled the LORD to see them in trouble, and his angel saved them. The LORD was truly merciful, so he rescued his people. He took them in his arms and carried them all those years.

Your ancestors refused to ask for my help, though I had rescued them from Egypt and led them through a treacherous, barren desert, where no one lives or dares to travel.

But God was merciful! We were dead because of our sins, but God loved us so much that he made us alive with Christ, and God's wonderful kindness is what saves you.

You have faith in God, whose power will protect you until the last day. Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do.
