That night the king, his officials, and everyone else in Egypt got up and started crying bitterly. In every Egyptian home, someone was dead.
God gave in to his anger and slaughtered them in a terrible way.
The king replied, “The LORD had better watch over you on the day I let you leave with your families! You're up to no good.
Everywhere in Egypt there will be loud crying. Nothing like this has ever happened before or will ever happen again.
If you won't help the poor, don't expect to be heard when you cry out for help.
Your vineyards will be filled with crying and weeping, because I will punish you. I, the LORD, have spoken!
Dreadful diseases and plagues marched in front and followed behind.
Then in the middle of the night someone shouted, “Here's the groom! Come to meet him!”
Do this, because on the day of judgment there will be no pity for those who have not had pity on others. But even in judgment, God is merciful!
and those who had survived were suffering from the sores. They all cried to their gods for help.
