Exodus 12:23

During that night the LORD will go through the country of Egypt and kill the firstborn son in every Egyptian family. He will see where you have put the blood, and he will not come into your house. His angel that brings death will pass over and not kill your firstborn sons.

Some of the blood must be put on the two doorposts and above the door of each house where the animals are to be eaten.

Go inside and lock the doors, my people. Hide there for a little while, until the LORD is no longer angry.

The LORD sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and he killed one hundred and eighty-five thousand of them all in one night. The next morning, the camp was full of dead bodies.

“Walk through the city of Jerusalem and mark the forehead of anyone who is truly upset and sad about the disgusting things that are being done here.”

Don't even grumble, as some of them did and were killed by the destroying angel.

His faith also made him celebrate Passover. He sprinkled the blood of animals on the doorposts, so that the firstborn sons of the people of Israel would not be killed by the destroying angel.

And Jesus is here! He is the one who makes God's new agreement with us, and his sprinkled blood says much better things than the blood of Abel.

“Don't harm the earth or the sea or any tree! Wait until I have marked the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

The locusts were told not to harm the grass on the earth or any plant or any tree. They were to punish only those people who did not have God's mark on their foreheads.
